Valentine Assignment

Theme: Valentine

Quote: “All I really need is love, but a little chocolate now and then doesn’t hurt…” ~Lucy Van Pelt, Peanuts
I chose this quote because it is hilarious and adorable. Plus, Peanuts is a famous series and it is one of my favourite series. I want this card to have a happy, sweet, and funny mood.

Shape: Circle
I chose circle as the shape because circle feels fun and free, instead of rigid, like love where a lot of freedom is involved. And circle reminds me of eternity because the world evolves around and around non-stop just like how love never stops in this world.

Photograph: Heart-shaped Chocolates and Self-Cam Picture
A photo of heart-shaped chocolates are taken because it is related to the quote and the valentine theme. The chocolates are placed on top of a piece of blank paper and is cut out by magnetic lasso. The self-cam picture is used without the eyes showing, which creates a mysterious feel to the card. The expression also represents the humour of the quote

Colour Theme: Red and Pink
Red and pink are chosen for my colour theme because the main theme that I’ve chosen is valentine and red and pink are representations of love and crush. They are warm colours that makes people feel inviting. Also, because the quote is a funny/witty one, so dark colours won’t be suitable for this occasion.
