Hybrid #2: Heronlily

Filed under: Other Artworks — Angela @ 2:57 pm

While I was working on the Dandepup hybrid, I have made another hybrid which I named “Heronlily”.

Unlike the Dandepup, which focuses on the combination of cuteness, the Heronlily has more elegance. For this hybrid, I used magnetic lasso and copied the heron’s head and neck into the lily and added an adjustment layer of brightness +2 contrast +9 to make it look more natural. I had to fix some parts with a brush because they looked unatural. I had some difficulties with the placement of the heron’s head as well as the placement of words, but in the end, I think setting the head as such adds more to the elegance of the photo and the placement of words draws the attention to the hybrid more. What seems to be successful is that this hybrid is very subtle and the combination of colours and organisms seems natural.
